Little Sunshine ft. Party Poofers
Monday, June 18, 2018
This season, I am falling in love in colorful stripes, and this Forever 21 jumpsuit is the epitome of it. Its bold yellow, white, black, and bright teal stripes grab the attention of party-goers and with neutral accessories, and a pair of Party Poofers in yellow, you know you're one of the best dressed of the party.
Party Poofers are great for going to summer functions including parties, weddings, kickbacks, and more. They come in colors including yellow, bright pink, black, red, lilac, and white in order to go with most clothes in your closet, solid or mixed. For locals, they are $10, and if you need them shipped to you, they are $15. This name of the the model I am modeling is the "Bubbly" earrings as they are bubbly and spark conversations. I am so blessed to start with this business aspect, and I hope to learn on my entrepreneurship journey!

One Item, Two Fits: Sunshine and Jeans
Sunday, June 10, 2018
Jeans, Top, and Earrings: Forever 21; Shoes: Amazon, Choker: SheIn |
Top and Shoes: Forever 21; Earrings: TJ Maxx, Bracelet: Belk; Necklace: Kendra Scott |
I found a perfect pair of white jeans from Forever 21 that I am in LOVE with. The style is a ruffle bottom jeans, and they are great for spicing up from a casual t-shirt and jeans daytime look to a dress tank and jeans nighttime turnt up look(even though I used a tank to make a causal look). But enough of gushing over a pair of jeans, let's get to this theme. (1, 2; keep in note these are not exact pair it may have been sold out online but probably not in stores)
YOU GUESSED IT: yellow is all over everything, and I am loving it. I am not shocked if my closet is filled with yellow before the end of summer: yellow two-piece sets, yellow earrings, yellow tank, yellow tinted sunglass, yellow dress, and counting. Yellow is definitely a perfect color to pair with my white jeans because it screams SUMMER in a combination.
Both tanks are wonderful to pair with the jeans as they give sophistication on the top as the different prints evoke different styles.
- For the gingham tank: I paired it with flatform sandals to make it a cute casual look. I added some color with the multicolor tassel earrings, which are so fun to wear during the day or night. Very appropriate for exploring places for the day and kickbacks during the night.
- For the floral tank: Though this look was worn for a daytime lunch with family, this is also nighttime appropriate to turn up for dress-to-impress casual night functions. Pop on a pair of heels, or backless loafers/slides and you are off to a good 'ole time. Don't forget simple jewelry, or a pair of statement earrings if you're extra like me. Keep in note that this top is a part of a co-ord set I got at Forever 21!
My summer festivities are amazing so far, and I am blessed with what is in store for me! Feel free to share your favorite summer pieces in your closet!
Xoxo, Desi

Spring Breakers: Charleston
Monday, March 12, 2018
Jacket and top: TJ Maxx, Skirt: SheIn, Purse: Forever 21, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Sunglasses: Target, Choker: Romwe |
Charleston, South Carolina is one of the most beautiful places that I've ever seen.
Here are a list of things that I did:
1. Shopped my heart downtown
2. Went to Forever 21 because it's a must
3. Took pictures at pineapple fountain
4. Found a street named after me, Princess St.
5. Went to the market downtown
6. Ate at Fire Grill Asian Fusion and Kilwin's Chocolates
7. Went to Rainbow Row
8. Outlet shopped
9. Went to the pier
10. Lost my LUSH virginity, because too bad I don't have a LUSH in Fayetteville/Greenville
The outfit I wore downtown was pretty edgy: a mix of metallics and denim. Then I completed the vibe with the glasses because as chilly as it is outside the yellow lenses made the scenery where it's supposed to be: sunny and warm.
What did you do on spring break? Interact with me in the comments!

Getting in the Phi Mu Spirit
Saturday, February 17, 2018
T-shirt: Fresh Prints, Skirt: Forever 21, Jean Jacket: TJ Maxx, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Choker: SheIn |
Today was my sorority's sisterhood retreat and recruitment video filming, and I wanted to know what the heck am I going to wear with a t-shirt?
After receiving a few tips online, I created this military aesthetic with a t-shirt that incorporated with the spring 2018 trends.
This Phi Mu t-shirt was inspired by one of our themed social where it was an army theme. I complimented the stars in the t-shirt with a star choker.
The yellow corduroy skirt adds that "sweet spot" in this hardcore, edgy look with the pastel color. God knows I am so excited for pastels to be here and I am starting to stock up.
I like that hardcore metal in this look, and this is where my favorite pair of sneakers come to play. They are casual, but the metallic rose gold makes the outfit more fun.
The finishing "home" touch includes the jean jacket I own that seems too tight on me. With that being said, I tied it around the waist to tone it down, making it look laid-back.
The funniest thing of that day is when we had the paper plate sister superlatives I had:
Laughing my pants off, that is obvious.
For real though, thank you Phi Mu for a wonderful sisterhood.

Co-ord set (top and shorts): Missguided, Jacket: TJ Maxx, Heels: Versona, Necklaces: SheIn(top) and Kendra Scott(bottom) |
When I think of a Valentine’s Day outfit, I think of sophisticated, sexy, and luxurious.
This satin co-ord set from Missguided was on my mind for what to wear tonight as it gives an intimate appeal. However, the choker that came with the set, which is wide and same color as the set, was a little too much.
Therefore, this is where the two small necklaces came to play. I layered this cute, iconic Kendra Scott necklace with the star choker necklace from SheIn. This gives me a vibe of being spoiled (because why not) with jewelry that gives meaning.
Then I paired the look with black accessories, like my favorite black heels from Versona and my homemade pom pom earrings. I feel that black has that “EDGE” and I wanted my outfit to have that “EDGE.”
Last but not least, I don’t care about the warm weather, but I still wore my leopard print fur jacket from TJ Maxx. Valentine’s day also has that wild side, but in a way that makes this look luxurious without too much effort.
Then for beauty I look to my new favorite fragrance, Very Sexy by Victoria’s Secret. I wanted a perfume that has that sultry smell that lasts all night. This perfume has a vanilla orchid base, so this will capture the boys (or your mans), as well was your favorite girls.
Then I am extremely obsessed with the Sephora Collection #Lipstories lipsticks. The color I wore was the 31 Golden Gate, and I have gotten impressed with the color. And the best thing about wearing it: I will last you all night (you should see me struggling to wipe it off) and it is very moisturizing. Next time, I want to try to get 33 Wanderlust, which is a deep blackberry shade. Hmm, that is also a sultry, v-day appropriate shade.
This completes the V-Day cocktail look which is feminine, sexy, and a little edgy.
What is your valentine’s day look?

One Shoulder Showstopper
Wednesday, November 8, 2017
Jumpsuit: SheIn, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Gold Choker: Forever 21, Earrings: TJ Maxx |
This SheIn one shouldered flare jumpsuit was one of the most beautiful purchases I have gotten in my entire life. The one shoulder neckline had a layer thing. Then the dress cinches you really well at the waistline oh my goodness. Now the fun part: the flare legs were a little cropped, but it gets better. They are a high low type of deal, and I love it!
Since the dress was all black, I had to put in something just as spontaneous as the dress, but not in competition. These fabulous Charlotte Russe pumps add some flirty foral impression, but does not draw away from the frilly dress.
Also I had to add some elegance with a gold chain necklace from Forever 21 and metallic earrings from TJ Maxx to add to the outfit.
Here you have it folks: extra elegance. What is one showstopper piece in your closet?

Gameday Getway
Sunday, October 22, 2017
Top, skirt, and earrings: Forever 21; Necklace and sunglasses: Catalog Connection; Purse: gifted; Shoes: TJ Maxx, Choker and pin: from my sorority |
I had a fun gameday: the tailgates were LIT, I experienced a first home game win, and most of all I was killin' it in this off-the-chain outfit!
This was a purple out; however you don't see that much cute purple in stores. Until I went to Forever 21 and saw with light purple cropped long sleeve top, I HAD to cop it.
I went full on baddie in this super cute quilted leather skirt, big hoop earrings and hardware toed booties. Then I went a little gaudy with the gold wrap beaded necklace and crossbody purse. I had to put on a pair of stylish shades for this sunny day.
Gamedays in college are a great opportunity to dress the heck up in school colors and be a little fancy (you can't get to much of it) with your outfit.
How do you dress up for ganeday?

Chunky Sweaters Came in a Little Early This Year
Saturday, October 21, 2017
Sweater: TJ Maxx, Skirt:Boohoo.com, Necklace:Versona, Boots: Target, Earrings: Forever 21, Bag(not shown much): Nine West |
Gucci Mane's bricksquad came in a little early this year when 10/17 came around, it became cold. And after scoping through TJ Maxx and finding out that up-ed their sweater game this year, I HAD to put my sweaters to good use.
This sweater is literally one of the best tops I purchased this year. It is a dolman sleeve, and I could throw it with any bottom to make it look good.
The envelope skort has come to play in order to add a pop of color to this outfit full of tans. The over-the-knee boots add extra warmth and style without freezing me legs to death.
Then I had to have my metallics with this Kendra Scott-inspired necklace and HUGE gold hoops. I don't know about you, but I am obsessed with huge hoops that scream BADDIE across it.
Who is pumped for sweater season? Comment what is your favorite sweater for this season.

Just a Little Glimpse of Summer
Sunday, October 1, 2017
Top: a friend's closet, Jeans: Target, Shoes: Wish, Bag: Stein Mart, Hoops: Belk |
Please don't tell me that I can't wear white jeans after Labor Day. I am so shook that this look is inspired by Show Me Your Mumu because of the boho vibe, and apparently this particular brand is known for its lavish flare pants. I recently liked Mumu's post on Instagram (@showmeyourmumu) about cutting of the hem of your favorite flare jeans, and I am LIVING.
This top has a unique choker neck design so I don't have to wear a necklace, which is rare for me because I love to have something around my neck when I dress up. I love this flowiness under the bust, which is really popular among girls dressing up on the go.
Cutting off the hem of the flare jeans is the best decision of my life. Not only it is great for petite frames like me, but it adds a dimension to the look. Then I have to complete this look with an edgy sandal from Wish which is cheaply made, but worth it because it is very trendy and it adds something unique to the outfit.
This look is great for out and about whether you are going out to eat, or to a casual party.
What fashion rule would you break?

Gingham Moments
Monday, September 25, 2017
Top: Charlotte Russe, Skirt: Forever 21, Necklace: Forever 21, Shoes: Wish, Earrings: Belk |
I kept the girliness of the top with a sweet salmon pink skirt. Who knows? Pink and blue is that perfect summer-to-fall combination of colors, especially with navy blue.
However, the girly look here has some edge. I toughened things up with these accessories: black platform sandals, gold chain choker, and huge gold hoops.
This look is perfect for going out to go dancing, and I literally had a fun time wearing this ensemble.
How do you transition your look for fall?

How Do You College?
Tuesday, July 25, 2017
Top and wrap choker: Forever 21, shorts: Old Navy, shoes: Chacos, bracelets: unofficial campus bookstore, earrings: Belk |
Arrrgh! I went through college orientation at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and I am so excited about being there in the fall. After going through the worst speaker on the first day, trying out Sup Dogs (the chicken fingers are so tasty), getting a first strike in bowling in so many years, and meeting new friends, orientation became a rewarding, fun experience!
Here are some good tips for having an amazing orientation:
- Do not forget shower shoes if you are staying in a residence hall! Since I slept in the residence hall, I had to take a shower in a communal shower. The floors will be pretty gross (because, you know), and you need to protect your beautiful feet from getting fungus and all of the other pathogens.
- Keep your orientation schedule. On the first day, I forgot to bring my orientation schedule, which left me lost all over campus. Plus, your phone won't be there for long because it will lose power in hours. Having your schedule with you on paper hell help you get to where you need to be and all of the events and what nots that you probably need to attend.
- Bring a blanket and pillow. The residence hall bedding is really uncomfortable if you decide to sleep there, so how I had a good night's sleep is that I bought a really comfortable pillow and blanket.
- Bring a backpack/tote that is big! You will be carrying heaps of paper, t-shirts, stickers, and other free stuff that organizations and programs give you during orientation. Also, bring a wristlet for getting food and other nice stuff.
- Explore your college town. I went to downtown Greenville for dinner with friends at SupDogs, plus shopping for the cutest shorts at one of their cutest boutiques in town, Catalog Connection! Exploring your college town will make you knowledgeable of what businesses will be around in your college town for your time in college.
- Don't forget to visit your dining hall. I ate at the West End dining hall for breakfast, and I had the best turkey sausage links ever! You also need to have a feel for the dining hall at school and to access what things you get to try out! I like drinking tea, and there is a place where you have your hot water for your tea.
- Wear comfy shoes. It was hot, so I wasn't really feeling sneakers. However, I bought my first pair of Chacos just in time for orientation! They are really comfortable, and after walking for hours, I even had a tan from them. You will be walking so much that you will be tired minutes later.
- Last, but not least, meet new people! I met some amazing people that love Lilly like I do, suck at bowling like I do, and some that are planning to be in the military. You can find so many unique things about them, and hey! You have made a friend that will be by you side during your college years.
Anyways, if you have not gone through orientation, these are very valuable advice from a person who has already gone through orientation. I am excited for August 16th, my move in day to college.
By the way I posted a new video on my YouTube channel that will showcase my purchases from orientation and also in town.

Summer Favorites
Thursday, June 29, 2017
On my recent trip to Chick-fil-a, I got to purchase their newest drink. And this was not the first time I purchased. Perhaps, when they first advertised the new drink it had my favorite things in a drink, so I had to go. And this drink inspired me to write a post about my summer favorites!
- Watermelon Mint Lemonade from Chick-fil-a: If you read the first paragraph thoroughly this is the drink I am describing. Watermelon, mint, and CFA lemonade all in one is literally heaven on earth! They are great drinks to take pictures with during summer. Speaking of that...
- Mango Black Tea Lemonade from Starbucks: Ah the last Starbucks trip before I graduated (and many more to come after that) I picked up this drink as a "pick me up" on the way to the movies with one of my high school friends. The taste is a bit mango-y with hints of black tea, but the sourness of the lemonade made this one of my favorite summer drinks.
- Dermasil Dry Skin Treatment: This was a graduation gift from church, and I was so excited to try this stuff. I have combo skin, but I am more on the dry side than the oily, so this was perfect! I fell in love as I apply it on my face because my face became soft to touch, and it was glowing (no highlighter needed). I incorporate this product into my routine, day and night, because your face needs to be moisturized, amirite? Overall, I will continue to use it until I find a product that works just as good or better.
- Milani Color Statement Matte Lipstick in (Dreamy or Naked): This color has hints of pink, but a pretty nude to compliment my skin tone as long as I have a darker lip pencil. For softer makeup looks, this is my go-to. Actually for summer this color is my new go-to.
- Old Navy Tie-Dye Watercolor Tee: Wow, this top is actually on sale at Old Navy. I am obsessed with tie dye print that resembles watercolor (if I am too extra at describing prints), and also the color blue (for editing awesome summer photos scroll down on this post ;-)). I wore this for the last day of being a high school student and another event that I can't think of. But this top looks really amazing with a choker, long necklace, white bottoms, earthly brown shoes. Who knows, I would definitely put this into a fourth of July outfit.
- White Skort: I am slowly falling in love with certain pieces from Stein Mart it isn't even funny. Fun tip, if you are looking for a mini skirt/skort, the petite section of the store has a few gems. Just pick the size that fits your liking, and voila! I wore this with the tee, and it has plenty of compliments. I fell in love with the gold accents in the front, and bam! I have a summer skort that will go with many cute things. I am thinking of getting a black see through top and a black cami underneath to go with it along with grungy black shoes.
- Easy A: Last, but certainly not least, I am a comedy and chick flick person when it comes to movies. Easy A puts the the two genres together. Trying not to spill the beans, but it is related to The Scarlet Letter, but in a modern twist: girl gets derided with a huge rumor that she was sexually active, then turns into a weird reputation. But for anyone who is in high school, PLEASE WATCH THIS MOVIE IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
And a bonus, here you have it:
- If you want to improve your likes on IG, Twitter, and all that jazz, I suggest you hit up VSCO cam. If you like to pay for stuff of the phone (or waiting until it becomes free), I recommend getting a C1 filter. HB1 and A5 are also good alternatives. I like to keep the temperature on high, and selecting a blue shadows and highlights tint. For the highlight and shadows tints, I usually go on the higher side of the tint, but if it is necessary to add color I will go on with the highest.
These are all of my favorites, and I am excited to scope for more. Desi out!

Mellow Yellow
Sunday, March 12, 2017
I am at the point where North Carolina's weather is really angering me. From 80-degree hotness in February to a stormy night, to a day where you feel nothing outside, to recently snowing and freezing my butt off, I feel like my closet is not prepared for this madness. This last Friday's outfit consisted my feelings all in one.
(Choker: Forever 21, Top: Belk, Tank Top; Old Navy or JC Penney, Skirt: Forever 21) |
I consider the color yellow to be a bright cheerful color. In this outfit this is a muted, yet cheery mustard yellow that juxtaposes the dark mushy olive green. The soft, flowy lace in the top and also in the tank top itself compliments with the edginess of the black choker(I am establishing a choker collection by later). This represents how the sun competes with the clouds, rain, and even a couple of thunderstorms here and there.
I paired this outfit with brown boots to introduce a second neutral that ties the look together. These boots from Charlotte Russe are easy boots to walk in and add sassiness to any outfit.
By the way, I am impressed with the brown background that compliments the outfit.
Yep. Welcome to North Carolina.

Haulin Around (Christmas Edition): Dear Santa, Define "Nice"
Tuesday, December 27, 2016
As JoJo said in one of her songs, I was a 'little too late' posting my Christmas 2016 presents, but I had a really great one to be honest. But Christmas 2016 has been one in the books because I had fun with Christmas parties, concerts, and time with family and friends. But further ado, here's some of my gifts, including a cute outfit.
Then I was excited for hosiery. I got a couple of legwarmers, or better yet boot warmers. I liked the crochet trimmed ones, and I have been begging for them since freshman year, and I got the chance to wear them and they were so cute! Then I needed more socks in my collection because I always run out of socks, and I am incorporating more boots in my closet. This is not all of the socks, but I got two packs of Betsey Johnson's socks, and I am very content. Then I always needed a pair of thick black leggings, so I got this cute pair, and if you look closely aside from the rad front zippers, there is unique stitching on the bottom that I like.
I did some heavy research with perfume, and I wanted a perfume with a sweet smell with tones of fruitiness(is that even a word??). I have came across Britney Spears' Fantasy perfume because according to the internet it smells like a fruity cotton candy, in which I love how cotton candy tastes and smells. I picked this out for Christmas, and I was impressed although I couldn't smell a lot because I had a cold.
Then I picked out a couple of skirts from Forever 21. The top one is a olive green button skirt, and I liked how it fits, though it is big in the waist, but the length was appropriate. If this came in another color that I do not have already in my closet, I would get it in a lower waist size because I was focusing in the hip length size that you actually are supposed to focus when you are buying jeans, not skirts. But really though, I really love this skirt, but I am able to get my mom to take it in a bit if I lose weight later on. Then, I got this cute wrap skirt, in which I have been wanting for a long time since it was trendy. I feel like that I have a lot of black skirts because of the fact that I always needed them for concerts, uniforms for other activities, etc. I am really going to cut back on buy black bottoms, or anything black in general.
I wished I could fit all of them in one photo since you could not see the black sweater(link here if you want to know what the sweater actually looks like). For the black sweater, I wished I still got it in a cream, but my mom thought we could get it later because we did not had the time to buy it at first glance. Then when we got on another trip to Stein Mart before Christmas, I saw the same top, but in a black. I snagged it off of the rack and I was able to purchase it. It has flowy sleeves and a cute funnel neck. This is also usable for college for gamedays (because I got accepted to East Carolina University to major in marketing, yay!) to wear with cute purple and gold accessories. This would look cute with the olive green skirt with a long necklace and tall boots. The cream one I got at Forever 21 was the cutest sweater I ever gotten from a store. It is cropped, has cute slits, and is laced up from the bottom. This is great for going out although this sweater in a different color would look better for food purposes. If you are the life of the party, then this sweater would be a showstopper. I will be planning to wear this for New Year's Eve party. Then the last one I thought this was just a sweater, but it fit on me like a tunic, or even a dress hence the sweater looked big and I purchased it in a medium. This red-orange tunic looks really cute with my over the knee black boots I will show you later on in this post. It has the cute fringes at the bottom, which inspired me to get it. Oh yeah, Stein Mart really up-ed their game on clothing, even if they did not have a junior section (I bet that store would go really well with a junior section).
This Christmas was heavily focused on jewelry. In 2016, I became obsessed with jewelry, more specifically chokers. I had a black one with a bow, but I wanted something simpler. I am surprised that I got two: one skinny one and one thick one. I'm also thankful that I finally got my hands on a pair on a huge gold earrings, larger than the ones than my old ones I had in middle school. Then smaller hoops came back in style, and I'm glad I put my hands on these diamond hoops. Then I felt the need to add more bracelets in my collection, and this bracelet had a pearl on one end then the shiny ball on the other. Then my aunt knew me really well by buying this cute necklace with brown ropes on each side.
From L to R: Top earrings: TJ Maxx, Bracelet: Belk, Bottom earrings: Belk, Skinny choker: TJ Maxx, Wide choker: Forever 21, Necklace: Gift (from Cato) |
Legwarmers, socks, and leggings: TJ Maxx |
Perfume: TJ Maxx |
Both skirts: Forever 21 |

Black sweater: Stein Mart, Cream sweater: Forever 21, Red-orange sweater: Stein Mart |
Also my other presents that are not listed are money, gift cards (Starbucks I'm coming), new make up brushes including my blending sponge, another pair of boot socks, long socks, eyeshadow palette, two pairs of falsies, my all time favorite mint dark chocolate M&Ms, a Kate Spade envelope set, a couple of Christmas ornaments, and a plush bear.
My Christmas day outfit involves mostly my presents, if not, all of these pieces I got for Christmas except for the watch. This flowy top is from the Jessica Simpson collection, in which I am very in love with concerning department store brands. This top is very versatile and can be worn with jeans, a skirt (as shown here), flare pants, and many other things. I wore the top off the shoulder style with the lace Old Navy tank top, which is also the other piece that is not a present. The black wrap skirt, and my new black boots (click here to see what it looks like) complete the look as well as the skinny choker necklace and huge gold hoops.
This has been a wonderful Christmas season, and I can thankful for every single part of it. I am happy for what I have gotten this year, and hopefully all of the things I have will be put into good use.
